Rising Above Bakery - Knead to Rise

Knead to Rise is Rising Above Bakery's baking program — open to anyone who wants to roll up their sleeves and become part of a real, thriving bakery team.

At Rising Above Bakery, bakers of all abilities bake side by side as equal members of the same crew. We meet each new baker where they are, tailoring the baking environment to their strengths and building from there. Every baker gets hands-on experience from day one.

Our bakers start with foundational items — granola, simple recipes — practicing core skills while getting comfortable in the kitchen: following recipes, measuring ingredients, building safety and hygiene habits. As confidence and skills grow, bakers move on to more advanced items like cookies, sourdough bread, and babka. Along the way, they develop time management, teamwork, communication, and customer interaction skills. Our bakers also take part in recipe development, contributing their own ideas to our rotating seasonal menu.

We provide modeling and support at all times. Mastering a new skill brings real pride. Showing up week after week, baking alongside your crew, and selling bread to the community builds something deeper — a sense of belonging that goes both ways.
